I wanted to let you know that WGTE will be airing the documentary "Boy Scouts of Harlem: 759" this August to celebrate 100 Years of Scouting.  The schedule with the times and dates is here-http://harlemscouts.wordpress.com/events/  and here http://www.wgte.org/wgte/about_wgte/index.asp?page_id=173

If you haven't seen the film, you're gonna love it.  It is a family-documentary about a small Troop from the city that spends a week at camp.  The focus is on 11 year old Keith Dozier who we see leave the city for country, spend his first night in a tent, struggle with a climbing wall, fail and then eventually pass the dock test, and earn his place as a Scout.  The Scouts are from New York City but you'll recognize the spirit as 100% Boy Scout.  The trailer is on our site at: www.harlemscouts.com and you will also find reviews and links to an article about the film in Scouting Magazine.

Attention all potential Ordeal members:

If you are planning to attend the OA ordeal this weekend, you need a medical form.  If you did not save a copy of the form you turned in for summer camp, I have them available.  However, I am going to be out of town on Wednesday and Thursday.  Therefore if you need to pick up your form, you must get over to my house this evening, or sometime Friday before the ordeal starts.  It is best if you call 419-824-8337 to be sure someone will be there to get you the forms when you arrive.

See you then!

Mr. Ellett

Committee Meeting & Training

All:

We have our next committee meeting planned for this Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 7:00 at the church.  We hope to plan out the year and get a pretty complete idea of the schedule at this meeting, so we hope to see you there.  We will meet in one of the classrooms as usual.

We also planned a training session on August 29, 2010 at Stacey and Scott Anderson's house, address 2302 Eversham Ct Toledo.  Eversham is off of Queensbury Road, which runs between Wimbledon Park and Gibley Park.  Best way if you do not know where these streets are, is to take King Road south of Central to Wimbledon Park Blvd.  Follow it around to Queensbury, right on Queensbury, and then left on Eversham Ct.  The Andersons are down at the end of the street on the cul-de-sac, at 2302.

Stacey would like an RSVP if you are planning to attend the training meeting on the 29th, so please RSVP to Stacey at telephone (419) 843-2838 or email ayecats98@hotmail.com.  At this meeting you will be able to complete the training for committee member and get that out of the way - this is training that anyone on the troop committee should have, so this is a chance to get this done in an easy way and have a good time with the other fun people of Troop 154, with burgers served to boot!  So call or email Stacey and let her know you are going to take advantage of this training!

Hope to see you at both of these events!

Allen
